Pune: Yerwada Police Arrests Burglar Within 24 Hours, Recovers Ornaments, Cash

Pune, November 17, 2020: A burglar allegedly broke into a house at Yerwada on Dhanteras which was celebrated on November 13 and stole gold ornaments, mobile phones, and cash, which was kept in front of idol for prayer rituals.

FIR against an unidentified person was lodged at the Yerwada Police station on Friday. Within 24 hours, the burglar was arrested. The accused has been identified as Avinash alias Sukhya Shinde (18), resident of Yerwada.

According to officials, policemen Ganpat Thikole, Navnath Mohite and Rohit Pardeshi received information about the accused. Accordingly, a team led by Senior Police Inspector Yunus Shaikh the accused was arrested and detained his minor accomplice. During the initial investigation, Avinash confessed to the crime. Police officials have recovered 110 gram gold ornaments, two mobile phones, and some cash, totally worth Rs 4,65,050, from his possession. Further investigation is underway by Assistant Police Inspector Sameer Karpe.

This action was taken under the guidance of Additional Commissioner of Police (East Region) Namdev Chavan, DCP (Zone 4) Pankaj Deshmukh, Assistant Police Commissioner Ramesh Galande. A team led by Senior Police Inspector Yunus Shaikh, Police Inspector (Crime) Ajay Waghmare, Assistant Police Inspector (Detection Branch) Sameer Karpe, Police personnel Pradeep Surve, Ganpat Thikole,  Navnath Mohite, Rahul Pardeshi, Sunil Sakat, Sameer Bhorde, Amjad Sheikh, Anil Shinde, Ganesh Wagh, Kiran Ghute, and Tejas Pawar.
