Pune: Youth Dies After Getting Washed Away Near Bhushi Dam; Two More Tourists Injured In Lonavala

Lonavala, 15th July 2022: The country’s famous tourist destination Lonavala-Khandala is reported to have different accidents with the tourists who came to enjoy the rain. An incident has come to light where two tourists were saved and one tourist died by drowning in water.

Many villages and roads are flooded due to rain in Lonavala, Khandala and Maval areas. Despite this, a large number of tourists from different states of the country are visiting the place.

 

The first accident happened in the Indori Kundmala in the Maval area. While having fun in the water on a dam, 22-year-old Rohan Kishan Sontakke slipped his foot and went away in the strong current of water. Fortunately, the rescue team deployed at that place saved Rohan’s life in time. Rohan, a resident of Solapur district, had come to visit with a friend.

 

The second incident came to light from a waterfall near Visapur Fort in Lonavala. Yash Mehta (21)came to enjoy the rain with his friends from Pune, but his foot slipped. With the help of the local rescue team, he was saved before falling into the 80 feet deep gorge. Yash was seriously injured in this accident and is undergoing treatment at a private hospital.

 

Similarly, 19-year-old Sahil Saroj from Mumbai came to visit the famous Bhushi Dam in Lonavala amid heavy rains along with his friends. Sahil’s foot slipped and he was washed away.

 

As soon as the information was received, the local citizens, police administration and NDRF team tried to search, but after 24 hours Saroj’s body was found on the bank of the dam. The body has been sent to the government hospital for postmortem. The local administration has asked the common people to be alert.
