PUNECON-2024 Spotlights AI, Blockchain, and Sustainable Energy Innovations
Khadakwasla, 13th December 2024: Defence Institute of Advanced Technology (DIAT), Pune organized the 7th edition of IEEE International Conference – PUNECON-2024 along with IEEE Pune Section from 13th to 15th Dec 2024. The main theme of the conference was “Sustainable Secure Digital Transformation”.
The conference closely focused on sustainable digital practices, as it promotes responsible use of technology. It has eight tracks – [1] Sustainable Computing, [2] Security, Privacy, Blockchain and Quantum Technologies, [3] AI, ML and Big Data Analytics, [4] Robotics and Automation, [5] 5G and Beyond Communications, Internet of Things, [6] Photonics and Laser Technologies, [7] Sustainable Energy Solutions, and [8] Smart Manufacturing and Industry 4.0. The conference aims to bring together thought leaders, eminent academicians, researchers, technocrats, industry personnel and policy makers to discuss pressing issues and innovative solutions in the above-mentioned theme.
Dr. Samir V Kamat, Secretary, Dept. of Defence R&D and Chairman, DRDO graced the inaugural function on 13/12/2024 as a Chief Guest and addressed the gathering. S. Sundari Nanda, IPS, Special Secretary (Internal Security), Ministry of Home Affairs, GoI and Dr. Jitendra J Jadhav, Director General, Aeronautical Development Agency, Bengaluru were the Guest of Honour and delivered keynote addresses. Dr. BHVS Narayana Murthy, Vice Chancellor of DIAT presided over the inaugural function whereas Dr. Manisha Nene, HoD, CSE, DIAT and Dr. Rajesh Ingle, VC-SSPU, Pune were General Chair of PUNECON-2024. The conference was also graced by distinguished scientists of DRDO labs, Senior members of IEEE Pune Section, eminent academicians, DIAT faculty and industry experts.
The conference also provided attendees with a unique opportunity to learn the sustainable and secure digital transformation by Indian and foreign eminent speakers in the respective domain. Around 150 participants from different parts of the India were registered for this conference. During the inaugural session the MoU was also signed between DIAT and National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology, (NIELIT), Delhi for cooperation in the field of Education.
Besides there are paper presentations on different tracks. There were different industrial companies participated and displayed their products such as Quntico Technologies Pvt. Ltd., Kalyani Strategic Systems Ltd., Netweb Technology, Siliconia Technologies Pvt. Ltd., National Academy of Defence Production, SMC Technologies, Datsons Electronics Pvt. Ltd etc.
On this occasion, Dr Samir V. Kamat extended his best wishes for great success of the conference. He stated that the adoption of the digital transformation and development of technologies should be without compromising environmental and security aspects. He also stated that he will look forward to the recommendations from this conference.
Jitendra Jadhav, DG-ADA, Bangalore, Guest of Honour in his key note address expressed that the current digital and multi-functional advanced data is playing very crucial role in the aviation industry and is very useful for next-generation AI power fighter jets. Sundari Nanda, Special Secretary (IS), MHA Guest of Honour in her key note address explained others sites of the adaption of digital transformation. She stated that such conferences are very important for awareness and discussion while moving towards digital transformation. She emphasised on the time frame, detailed evaluation and structural parameters to implement the Prime Minister vision of Viksit Bharat-2047.
All dignitaries extended their warm wishes to grand success the international event to the organizing team and asked participants for their active participation.
