Puneites Urged to Vote: Students Lead Voting Awareness Drive

Pune, 10th May 2024: The celebration of democracy is going on across the country and voting is taking place in Pune on Tuesday (May 13). The State Election Commission is conducting a voting awareness campaign across the state to increase voting. Various educational programs are being organized.

Following this, the students of Suryadatta Law College created awareness through street plays.

Students performed a street play at Balgandharva Chowk and Sambhaji Garden, JM Road Pune, and appealed to all Punekars to cast their votes. Also, students gave a message through posters. The area was rocked with the slogans like ‘Let’s vote and make the country progress’, ‘Pride of voting, pride of democracy’, and ‘Vote Kar Punekar’.

This awareness campaign was conducted under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Sanjay B. Chordiya, Founder President, Sushma Chordiya, Vice President of Suryadatta Education Foundation and Prof. Dr. Mithilesh Vishwakarma, Principal of Suryadatta Law College & under the leadership of Monika Saharawat, Assistant Professor at Suryadatta Law College. Writer & Actor Rajendra Palwe wrote and directed this street play. Around 30-35 students participated in this campaign.

Prof. Dr. Sanjay B. Chordiya congratulated the students and staff for this awareness campaign. He said, “Everyone should exercise his right to vote to empower and strengthen Indian democracy. We have to vote responsibly to send good representatives to Parliament. Therefore, on the 13th, Puneites should participate in this festival of democracy and vote 100 percent. Suryadatta is always on the front for this kind of awareness and social work along with comprehensive education, he added.
