Puneri Paltan joins hands with the Robin Hood Army to distribute food to the indigent community

Pune 6th September, 2017: Puneri Paltan one of the top performing teams in the Pro Kabaddi League recently joined hands with the International NGO-Robin Hood Army to serve food to the less fortunate people in Pune. Robin Hood Army is a volunteer-based International NGO which collects surplus food from several restaurants/organizations and distributes it to the needy ones. This activity was coordinated by the Pune Unit of Robin Hood Army where Captain of Puneri Paltan- Deepak Hooda accompanied by More GB, Rohit Kumar and Ravi Kumar along with the volunteers of Robin Hood Army distributed food to the needy ones in Pimple Saudagar.

Speaking on the occasion, Captain of Puneri Paltan Deepak Hooda said“It was a privilege for me to be able to serve food to those in need. I too come from a humble background, so I know the value of every single meal. The smile and happiness on the faces of people gave me a satisfaction that nothing else in this world could give. I appreciate the efforts of the Robin Hood Army and hope they continue their good work. My best wishes are with them.”

 

Speaking on the occasion, CEO of Puneri Paltan Kailash Kandpal said, “Hunger is a crisis that holds lot of people in its grip. It is shocking to know that 15.2% of Indians are undernourished. We as Puneri Paltan are a socially conscious team and want to give back to the society in our own humble ways. Partnering with Robin Hood Army was our first step to do so and we hope to associate with them again in the near future.”

 

Commenting on the occasion, Bhavini Chauhan a volunteer from Pune RHA, said “It was a privilege to have the players with us for our food distribution drive. Deepak sir taught mathematics to the kids and all the players distributed cupcakes to them. The Robins had a very interactive session with the Puneri Paltan team. The players also distributed jerseys to the kids. It was a different experience for the volunteers of Robin Hood Army.”

 

During this activity the volunteers of Robin Hood Army along with the players of Puneri Paltan distributed food to about 80 underprivileged people. Post the distribution of food, the players of Puneri Paltan spent quality time with the kids by playing a friendly game of Kabaddi.
