Puneri Paltan seek blessings from divine Bappa during the auspicious Ganeshotsav

Pune, 28th August 2017: The Puneri Paltan team and management visited the pandals of Pune’s oldest temple- Kasba Ganpati and the prominent Dagdusheth Halwai Ganpati to seek blessings of Lord Ganesha. Captain Deepak Hooda, Head Coach BC Ramesh along with key players Sandeep Narwal, Dharmaraj Cheralathan, Akshay Jadhav, Girish Ernak and Rajesh Mondal participated in the evening aarti of both the pandals and distributed Prasad to the devotees.

 

Commenting on the occasion, Deepak Hooda, Captain- Puneri Paltan said, “I have been extremely fortunate to get the blessings of Bappa during the auspicious Ganesh Festival. Bappa is the lord of knowledge and destroyer of obstacles and today we as a team prayed to Bappa to help us tackle every obstacle we would face in the quest for victory. I would also like to request all Bappa’s devotees to celebrate Ganesh Chaturthi in an eco-friendly manner and refrain from polluting the environment.”

 

Speaking on the occasion, Kailash Kandpal-CEO Puneri Paltan said, “Kasba Ganpati is the ‘gramadevata’ of Pune and Dagduseth is the most prominent one. Visiting these temples has provided the team with great mental strength to play the rest of the season. Ganesh Festival which has a rich heritage and legacy just like Kabaddi, is celebrating its 125thyear this time and it was a special feeling for the team to have visited both these temples. Historically Kasba Ganpati is the 1st Ganpati of Pune, taking inspiration from him we also want to be the number 1 team in this season of PKL.”

 

During the visits to both the pandals the team got a chance to interact with the trustees of both the temples. The team was felicitated by both the trusts with shawls and coconut. Both the trusts also gave their best wishes to the Puneri Paltan team for the upcoming games. A lot of excited fans gathered to watch the aarti. Many kabaddi enthusiasts post the aarti interacted with the team and clicked pictures with their favourite players.
