Pune’s Rs 42,000 Crore Ring Road Project Begins, Changing the City’s Connectivity

Wagholi, 2nd December 2024: The groundwork for the ambitious Pune Ring Road project, which promises to transform connectivity and reduce traffic congestion in Pune, has officially begun. The Eastern Phase of the project, covering a 24.5 km stretch between Pune Nagar Road and Solapur Highway, has been awarded to Roadway Solution India Infra Ltd. The contractor has already established operations at Wadebolhai village near Kesnand.
The inauguration ceremony was marked by a traditional pooja and was attended by dignitaries, including Ameet Gadhoke, Managing Director of Roadway Solution India Infra Ltd., along with local leaders such as Kunal Gupta and Vishal Ghule Patil. Villagers from Wadebolhai also participated enthusiastically in the event.
With more than 100 excavators and heavy machinery deployed, the project is set to gain momentum once the Government of Maharashtra officially inaugurates the construction.
Speaking about the commencement, BK Singh, Director of Roadway Solution India Infra Ltd., said, “This is a significant step toward enhancing Pune’s infrastructure. We are committed to ensuring that the Eastern Phase is completed within the stipulated time while maintaining the highest quality standards.”
The Pune Ring Road, a 170-km-long infrastructure marvel with an estimated budget of ₹42,000 crores, is divided into four phases. It aims to ease traffic congestion, improve connectivity to peripheral regions, and boost Pune’s economic growth.
“The official groundbreaking ceremony is scheduled for after December 5, 2024,” Singh added, highlighting the project’s importance in redefining Pune’s urban landscape.
The Pune Ring Road project represents a milestone in the region’s journey toward modern, sustainable infrastructure development.
