Panipat/Yamunanagar, January 11, 2021: Women, lured by good jobs abroad, are mentally harassed and tortured by various organizations. The Randhawa helpline of Harnek Randhawa, Thana Chappar, residing in Canada, has freed one such woman from Punjab.

This girl was sent by one of her relatives to the city of Erbil, Iraq, to work there. From here, she took a Hyderabadi agent with her. Physical and mental abuse began. When the woman refused to work, she was beaten up. She contacted her relatives in some way and informed them of these atrocities. When her relatives spoke to the agent, he retracted. The police registered a complaint in the case, but the agent escaped.

In order to rescue the girl, the relatives approached Harnek Randhawa of the police station. On which Harnek Randhawa spoke to the Indian consulate in Erbil city and gave full information about the girl. Along with this, a campaign was run on Twitter which showed that the woman was trapped in the Kurdistan region. She was soon rescued as soon as her exact location was traced. She was now united with her relatives. Upon reaching here, the girl thanked the Randhawa helpline.

Do not fall for the agents’ promises

Harnek Randhawa has appealed to girls, “Women in Arab countries have to face harassment. If you want to go abroad, then go as per rules. In any case, do not send the women on the visa of the housemaid in the Arab country.”
