Railways To Run Special Train For Char Dham Yatra; Check Details
New Delhi, 7th July 2021: In view of the decreasing cases of Coronavirus across the country, Indian Railways has decided to conduct Char Dham Yatra in September. This special train will travel to many top tourist destinations including Badrinath, Jagannath Puri, Rameswaram and Dwarkadhish. After the popularity and success of ‘Shri Ramayana Yatra’ train operating on Ramayana circuit, IRCTC has now introduced Deluxe AC Tourist Train for Char Dham Yatra under ‘Dekho Apna Desh’.
According to a press release, this 16-day journey will start from Delhi’s Safdarjung Railway Station on September 18, 2021, and will travel to Badrinath, including Mana village (near China border), Narsingh Temple (J Joshimath), Rishikesh, Jagannath Puri Including the Golden Beach of Puri, Sun Temple of Konark, Chandrabhaga Beach, Rameshwaram including Dhanushkodi, Nageshwar Jyotirlinga, Dwarkadhish, Shivrajpur Beach and Bet Dwarka.
During this yatra, devotees will travel a distance of about 8500 km. Many facilities have been provided for the passengers in the state of art deluxe AC tourist train. The train features two fine dining restaurants, a modern kitchen, shower cubicles in the coaches, sensor-based washroom function, foot massager among others. The fully air-conditioned train offers two types of accommodation- First AC and Second AC. Special arrangements have also been made for the safety of the passengers on the train.
Security guards have been deployed in each coach of the train besides CCTV cameras. IRCTC has started this special tourist train in line with the Government of India’s initiative ‘Dekho Apna Desh’ to promote domestic tourism. Travel packages start from Rs 78,585 per person. This includes train travel in AC class, accommodation in deluxe hotels, food, and sightseeing in AC vehicles except in hilly areas, travel insurance and services of IRCTC tour managers.
Provision has been made in this deluxe tourist train to ensure safety measures post Covid-19. Booking can be done for only 120 tourists on this train with a total capacity of 156 tourists. At least the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination is mandatory for travellers aged 18 years and above. Apart from this, IRCTC will also provide a safety kit to all tourists carrying face masks, hand gloves and sanitisers.
