RD&ME Expo 2016 held for the 1st time in Pune
The ‘Rubber Dies & Moulds Expo’ (RD&ME) 2016 was successfully held at Auto Cluster Research & Development Institute at Chinchwad Pune, on 21st& 22nd April 2016. The prestigious Expo was inaugurated by Mr. Arun Firodia, Chairman, Kinetic Group, who lauded the All India Rubber Industries Association (AIRIA) and the participating companies for their initiative to create this platform, where all rubber products manufacturers gathered to showcase their products.
“It is the first time that AIRIA is conducting a national-level expo of this scale in Pune, it will definitely benefit the industry in Pune”, said Vikram Makar, Chairman & Managing Director Oriental Rubber Industries Pvt Ltd., which is one of the largest conveyor belt manufacturing companies in India. Makar, who has taken over the legacy of Oriental Rubber Industries from his grandfather, was instrumental in transforming the company from ‘proudly Indian to proudly global’. Makar is also Chairman of RD&ME Expo and Vice-President of AIRIA.
Arun Firodia was warmly welcomed by Vikram & his wife Punam Makar, alongwith Vinod Patkotwar, RDME Convenor, Prajakta Kotasthane and other delegates.
RDME is the first of its kind expo for rubber product manufacturers in MSME sector to explore more business opportunities. RDME was an event which will bridge the gap between rubber products manufacturers and dies / moulds manufacturers.
RDME is aligned to Prime Minister’s initiative of “Make in India”, and will create conditions for entrepreneurship, employment opportunities, global tie-ups and foreign investments.
“Pune, being the automotive & engineering hub of India, was the ideal location for conducting RDME. In addition, presence of sectors such as infrastructure, defense, research centers like NCL & ARAI and proximity to AIRIA HO in Mumbai were reasons for selecting Pune for RDME”, added Makar.
