Pune, 2nd May 2025: Immerse yourself in a cultural and culinary time capsule as JW Marriott Pune’s Spice Kitchen presents an extraordinary dining experience—Unexplored Murshidabad, a rare gastronomic journey celebrating the opulent and unexplored cuisine of Bengal’s historical city, Murshidabad. From 9th to 18th May 2025, this experience will transport guests through time as Chef Rahman revives lost Nawabi recipes and reimagines them with authenticity, finesse and flair.

Murshidabad’s palaces and tales of grandeur still echo in its lanes, however its distinct cuisine has remained largely untouched by modern dining culture. With Unexplored Murshidabad, JW Marriott brings this exquisite culinary narrative to light, in the heart of Pune. Curated with deep passion and cultural reverence by Chef Rahman, this specially designed experience is more than just a meal, it is a tribute to Murshidabad, the 18th-century capital of Bengal.

At the heart of this experience is a thoughtfully crafted menu featuring heirloom recipes and lesser-known royal dishes. Diners can indulge in the Piste Ka Korma, a creamy green-hued delicacy with crushed pistachios and the Gosht Risala, a mildly spiced mutton dish with a signature Murshidabadi touch. The indulgent Murgi Korma, slow-cooked to perfection, offers a taste of regal comfort.Seafood lovers will find joy in the Bhapa Ilish, a steamed Hilsa preparation that exemplifies Bengali ingenuity. Vegetarians are in for a treat too, with inventive creations like the Anjeer Kofta, a dried fig and cottage cheese dumpling in rich gravy, and the Paniphal Tikki, a unique water chestnut patty with a delicate crunch and spice. The Ghee Ki Nihari, slow-cooked overnight with aromatic spices, speaks to the
luxurious decadence of the Nawabi kitchens.

Set against the refined ambiance of Spice Kitchen, guests will enjoy their meal with soft channel music, designed to elevate your senses and transport you to the bygone courts of Bengal’s Nawabs. Whether you’re a lover of Indian heritage cuisine or simply someone seeking to explore new flavors, Unexplored Murshidabad offers an unforgettable culinary passage into one of India’s richest but least-explored food legacies.
