Rehearsed, Researched, Executed? Police Reveal Shocking Claims in Ketan Agarwal Murder Case
Pune, 27th June 2026: The investigation into the alleged murder of Ketan Agarwal at Lohagad Fort has revealed chilling details, with police claiming that the prime accused, Siya Goyal, and her alleged boyfriend, Chetan Chaudhary, had rehearsed how to kill him before allegedly pushing him into a gorge.
According to police officials, the duo had researched methods of committing the murder on the internet and selected a specific spot at Lohagad Fort where they intended to carry out the crime. Investigators have alleged that the first attempt to kill Ketan on June 14 failed after they allegedly tried to push him off the cliff.
Police said the accused then devised another plan. Under the pretext of celebrating Ketan’s birthday, Siya allegedly convinced him to visit Lohagad Fort again on June 18. During the visit, she and Chetan allegedly pushed him into the gorge, resulting in his death.
Investigators said Ketan and Siya reached Lohagad Fort together on the morning of June 18, while Chetan arrived separately shortly afterwards. Police further alleged that Chetan avoided paying the ₹25 entry fee at the base of the fort and wore a hooded sweatshirt with his face covered to avoid being identified by CCTV cameras before making his way to the top.
According to the investigation, at around 10:00 am to 10:45 am, Ketan was allegedly pushed into the gorge near Hatti Talav inside the fort premises. Police said that after the incident, Siya raised an alarm, claiming that Ketan had accidentally lost his balance and fallen into the valley. She informed local residents and security personnel, who alerted the Lonavala Rural Police.
Police rushed to the spot and rescued Ketan from the gorge before shifting him to the District Rural Hospital in Khandala. However, doctors declared him dead before treatment could begin.
Following Ketan’s death, his family expressed suspicion over the circumstances surrounding the incident and questioned the claim that it was an accident. During the subsequent investigation, police detained Siya for questioning.
According to police officials, Siya allegedly confessed to conspiring with Chetan to kill Ketan by pushing him off the cliff. During interrogation, she reportedly told investigators that she did not want to marry Ketan and disliked him because he wore a wig to conceal baldness and had a stammer.
Police have stated that the investigation is continuing, and further evidence is being collected as part of the ongoing probe.
Meanwhile, advocate Aashutosh Srivastava, who is representing Siya, has claimed that there is no eye-witness and the police are selectively leaking information.
