Road Rage: Pune City Vice President of NCP Arrested For Beating Woman Lawyer
Pune, 14th February 2023: Dayanand Irkal, the vice-president of the Pune city unit of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), was arrested for assaulting a female lawyer in Pune. The incident, which took place on Monday, involved Irkal physically assaulting the woman and using abusive language towards her.
The victim, a 25-year-old lawyer, filed a complaint at the Chatursrungi police station. The police have registered a case against Dayanand Irkal, Sandhya Mane Irkal, and two to three others. The incident occurred around 9 pm when the victim honked at the four-wheeler in front of her on Senapati Bapat Road.
Irkal got down from the car and proceeded to manhandle the victim. Sandhya Mane Irkal, who was sitting in the car, also slapped the victim. The two other individuals who were with them also beat and abused the victim.
The incident has sparked outrage, with many condemning the behavior of Irkal and his accomplices. The NCP has also come under scrutiny, with many questioning the party’s stance on women’s safety.
Police are further investigating the case.
