Rotary Club of Pune Shivajinagar donates Public Toilets to Empress Garden
Empress Garden is an iconic site in Pune and one of the Best Botanical gardens in India . The Garden covers a sprawling 39 acres, and is home to many rare species of trees and flowers.The Society organizes annual flower shows and arranges various programs throughout the year to create environmental awareness among people. It is visited by over 5 Lac visitors annually.
Unfortunately Public toilets were inadequate and realizing this need Rotary Club of Pune Shivajinagar came forward and constructed unit for Gents and Ladies with Hand Wash Facility. This will immensely help the Garden to keep it Environment friendly.
A formal function was conducted on 29 June 2016 in the Garden and Prominent business leader and social worker Sumantai Kirloskar was the Chief Guest. The function was attended by President of the Club Gauri Shikarpur, Past District Governor and IT Expert Dr Deepak Shikarpur , Suresh Pingale (Trustee) and Mrs Avlokita Mane.
