Rs 606 crores sanctioned for development of Raigad – Devendra Fadnavis
Fort Raigad, 2.JUNE.19 (Jimaka): “Raigad fort was not only the capital but also the backbone of the Swarajya of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. Conservation of this fort is necessary to spread the history of patriotism to the next generation. In view of this, under the guidance of the Archaeological Survey of India, the work of the Raigad Fort Development Authority is being implemented properly. In this way government is trying to fulfil the demand of Shivpremi”, said Devendra Fadnavis, Chief Minister of Maharashtra ,during his visit organised to review the conservation work of the fort raigad here.
He further stated that, for the development of the fort Raigad, the Maharashtra government has sanctioned a plan of Rs 606 crore and in the first phase, works worth Rs. 59 crores have been undertaken and completed. He expressed satisfaction about the work.
Chhatrapati Sambhaji Raje ,the President of Raigad Development Authority, , MLA Praveen Darekar, MLA Aniket Tatkare, MLA Bharatsheth Gogawale, Raghujiraje Angre, Bhushan Gagrani, Chief Secretary of Mr. Devendra Fadanvis, Collector Dr. Vijay Suryavanshi, Special Inspector General of Konkan Division Niket Kaushik, Zilla Parishad Chief Executive Officer Dilip Halde, District Superintendent of Police Anil Paraskar, Director of the Mumbai Bureau of Indian Archeology Department Bipin Chandra Negi,Mr. Jangke, In-charge of Raigad Fort, Additional District Collector Bharat Shitole, Sub-divisional magistrate Vithal Inamdar were present on the occasion.
In his address Mr. Fadnavis further said that the preservation and conservation of ancient temples and chambers on Raigad fort is being associated with history. Apart from this, the land acquisition process has also been completed for the construction of basic infrastructure for the tourists coming to the fort and for widening of the roads leading to the fort. He said that people are giving good cooperation for this great work.
At this time Mr. Fadnavis took a darshan of the Samadhi of Rajmata Jijau Saheb at Pachad. After that, he enterred in the fort by Rope-Way . He inspects the revival of the route from Pathway to Upper Station Pathway and to Kushavart Lake and to the Wagh Darwaja. After that, he went for the Darshana of Lord Jagadishwar and also visited the markets of Holi. Mr. Fadanvis took the Darshana of the Samadhi of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. He also reviewed the developmental work near Hatti lake. After taking Darshana of Shirkai Devi he came to the Hattikhana, where he watched the video of the work done by the Raigad Development Authority. It was informed at the time that works like cleaning of 22 lakes and repairing of leakage had been completed which resulted in to abundance availability of water on the fort.
Then Mr. Fadnavis came to the Rajsadar ( royal palace) and Nagarkhana through the route of Holi Mal. He garlanded the statue of Shivaji Maharaj placed at the Rajsadar. At last, he visited Balekilla and Ranivasa and steped down through Mena Darwaja.
