Sachin Apte Elected Chairman of Cosmos Co-operative Bank in Pune

Pune, 5th May 2026: Senior Director Sachin Apte has been unanimously elected Chairman of Cosmos Co-operative Bank after former Chairman Adv. Pralhad Kokare stepped down voluntarily.

The election was held unopposed, with all members of the board of directors backing Apte’s candidature. The result was officially announced by Pune District Collector and Election Officer Jitendra Dudi following approval from the Co-operative Election Authority in New Delhi.

Apte is a qualified civil engineer with a postgraduate degree in structural engineering from a reputed government engineering college in Pune. He has over 30 years of experience as a practising civil engineer, promoter, and developer, with work spanning both India and overseas.

Apart from his engineering career, he has served as a management consultant for institutions, hospitals, and trusts. He is also associated with leading hospitals in Pune as a liaison consultant and is an entrepreneur in the hospitality and restaurant sector. Apte is actively involved in the education sector through his association with reputed academic institutions.

He has been a member of the board of Cosmos Bank since 2019 and served as Vice Chairman in the financial year 2021–22. He currently holds positions on several key committees of the bank and is also engaged in various social initiatives.
