Sadashiv Peth Attack Case: Three Pune Policemen Suspended For Not Being Present At Police Chowky

Pune, 29th June 2023: A young woman was attacked in broad daylight in Sadashiv Peth. Fortunately, two brave young men apprehended the attacker and swiftly brought her to the nearby Perugate Police Chowky under Vishrambag police station, Pune City Police. However, to their dismay, they discovered that there were no police officers present at the station.

 

As a result, three individuals, including the police constable from the Perugate police chowky, have been suspended due to allegations of dereliction of duty. Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone 1) Sandeep Singh Gill, confirmed the suspensions and cited the negligence exhibited by these three police personnel.

 

The suspended employees have been identified as Head Constable Sunil Shantaram Tathe, Constables Prashant Prakash Jagdale, and Sagar Namdev Rane.

 

The shocking incident unfolded two days ago in Sadashiv Peth, Pune, where a young man pursued a female college student and viciously attacked her with a sharp weapon. Acting fearlessly, two bystanders apprehended the assailant without regard for their own safety.

 

It was later discovered that no police personnel were present at the nearby Perugate Police Chowky during the incident. Local residents contacted the police control room, who arrived at the spot after being alerted.

 

This incident has raised concerns regarding the performance of the police force. Consequently, three policemen have been suspended for their negligence in this matter.
