Sangvi: Man Booked By Police After His Pet Dog Bit A 7-Year-Old Girl

Pune, December 27, 2020: Sangvi police booked a pet owner after his dog bit a 7-year-old girl in the Jaymala Nagar Society of Old Sangvi. The incident happened on December 25 in the evening in lane number 5 of the society.

The girl’s mother Jyotsna Rajkumar Ingole (26) filed a complaint against Sanjay Vinayak Pawar at the Sangvi police station on December 26.

Jyotsna has alleged that her daughter Pratiksha (7) was talking to her father over a phone call around 6:30 pm on December 25 when Pawar, who has three pet dogs, let one of his dogs out without taking any precautions. His dog bit her daughter on her right leg’s thigh and as soon as she came to know about the incident she decided to lodge a complaint against Pawar.

Sangvi Police has booked Pawar under sections 289 (negligent conduct with respect to animal) and 504 (intentional insult) of the Indian Penal Code.
