Pune, 30th July 2015 : AGP World, the parent company of Ashvin Gidwani Productions is all set to bring a Hinglish blockbuster play – ‘2 to Tango, 3 to Jive’ (T5J) to Punekars on Sunday, 9th August 2015 at Nehru Memorial Hall located in Camp at 7.00 pm. This play has already completed more than 60 shows in India and abroad and will be staged in Pune for the very first time for the general audience. It has been performed in major theatre festivals and got critical acclaims as well.

It’s been 18 years since film and theatre veteran Saurabh Shukla was last seen on the stage; and this play marks his theatrical comeback not only as an actor but as a director too. On this occasion, Shukla said, “The play is an account of modern life where characters are trying to curb loneliness even at the cost of breaking social norms. In their desperate attempt to defeat a sense of loss, fear of being incomplete and the confusion arising through the so called settled life, the characters are trying to achieve a state of togetherness, without sacrificing their own personal lonely space. This creates the conflicting situation of ‘denial running under the skin of acceptance.”

T5J is about one man’s quest for an extramarital life. It follows the travails of Parminder Singh Sethi (Shukla), who is bored to death with the mundane routine of his life. In his state of ennui, and for the first time in his 22-year marriage, he is seriously considering indulging in an extra marital affair, believing that it will bring back his zeal for life.

There are three female characters in this play apart from Shukla, who entertains them at his mother’s house using it as a love nest. Shomali, the first woman, has resistance against hypocrisy. Rinky, the second one represents the free-willed woman, who survives with tactics in a society of men. Savita, the third woman is the one who has lost faith in the world. Though these women make just fleeting appearances in his life, each of these women teaches him an importance lesson, opening his eyes to the many truths of life — the biggest being — having an affair is not a piece of cake. In doing so, the play basically dissects the core of modern urban life and changing values.

The cast includes established film and television stars like Achint Kaur, Sadiya Siddiqui, Preiti Mamgain and Saurabh Shukla himself. A hit in Mumbai, this play surely is something to be not missed by Punekars. The tickets ranging from Rs.300 to Rs.1500 are available at bookmyshow.com and will also be made available at the counter of Nehru Memorial Hall one week prior to the show.
