Savitribai Phule Pune University Announces Common Eligibility Test for Admission

Pune, 22nd April 2024: Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) has announced a Common Eligibility Test (CET) aimed at streamlining admissions across its various departments for Post Graduate Programmes (PG)/Undergraduate Programmes (UG) / Integrated and Interdisciplinary Programmes. The online application process for the entrance exam has commenced, with aspiring students given until May 10 to apply.

The university, renowned for its diverse range of degree and post-graduate programs, conducts an annual online entrance exam, consisting of 100 marks, to facilitate admissions. Notably, both the main campus in Pune and the sub-centre in Nashik are participating in this year’s entrance examination.

A wide array of courses, spanning vocational, technical, management, fine arts, applied sciences, and traditional disciplines, are encompassed in the CET. What sets this initiative apart is its inclusivity, as the university opens its doors to students who have completed their Class XII examinations, granting them access to select courses.

The format of the entrance test comprises a General Knowledge and Aptitude paper worth 20 marks, alongside a main subject paper carrying 80 marks. It’s imperative for candidates to note that a penalty of one-quarter mark will be imposed for every incorrect answer. The exam itself is scheduled to last for two hours and will be conducted online.

– Entrance Test for Degree Courses: June 13
– Entrance Test for Post-Graduate Degree Courses: June 14th to 16th
