Season’s First Alphonso Mangoes from Karnataka Arrive at Pune Market Yard
Pune, 18th December 2025: The mango season has officially kicked off in Pune with the arrival of the first batch of Alphonso (Hapus) mangoes from Karnataka at the Gultekdi Market Yard.
Typically, the season begins with the first harvest arriving from Maharashtra’s Konkan region, but this year Karnataka has taken the lead. The initial consignment reached the stall of trader Rohan Satish Ursal and immediately drew attention from buyers and traders.
The shipment consisted of six boxes sent by farmer G.M. Shafiullah from his orchards in Karnataka. During the auction, a box containing four dozen mangoes fetched a premium price of ₹5,100, reflecting strong demand for the early-season fruit.
