Several Areas In Pune Face Water Supply Disruption Due To Power Pole Damage Near Khadakwasla
Pune, 29th April 2024: In the aftermath of an accident in Khadakwasla, a crucial power pole sustaining the supply of electricity to the Jackwell suffered damage, resulting in an abrupt halt to the water distribution in various parts of Pune including Shivajinagar, Chatushringi, and Baner.
The incident occurred around 11:15 AM today, leading to a disruption in the electricity supply system, consequently affecting the water distribution network. Immediate repair efforts were initiated by the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) to rectify the situation. However, until the restoration work is completed, several areas within Pune will experience an interruption in water supply.
The affected regions include Kothrud, Warje Malwadi, Baner, Balewadi, Bawdhan, Pashan, Karve Road, Chatushringi, Aundh, and Ganesh Khind, all falling under the jurisdiction of the Warje Water Purification Center.
Moreover, residents in Shivaji Nagar, Gokhale Nagar, and Prabhat Road areas are also experiencing water supply disruptions. Similarly, neighborhoods along Sinhagad Road, managed by the Parvati Water Purification Center, such as Ramtekdi, Hadapsar, Mundhwa, Wanwadi, Sampura Kondhwa, Kharadi, Camp, Yerwada, and Khadki, overseen by the Lashkar Water Purification Center, are likely to encounter low water pressure or complete cessation of supply.
Efforts are underway to swiftly address the technical fault and restore regular water supply to the affected areas. Residents are urged to exercise patience and cooperate with the authorities during this period of inconvenience.
