Shahaja, Zeel in semifinals of Aryan Pumps – MSLTA WOMEN’S $15K TENNIS TOURNAMENT
Nagpur, 4th March 2022: Indian players Shahaja Yamlapalli and Zeel Desai alongside second seeded Anna Ureke of Russia and Third seeded Emily Seibold of Ger entered the singles semifinals of the Aryan Pumps- MSLTA Womens’ 15K ITF World Tennis Tour Event being organised by Nagpur District Hard Court Tennis Association (NDHTA)under the auspices of ITF , AITA and MSLTA with MSLTA and played at MSLTA Tennis Academy at Ramnagar, Nagpur.
In the biggest upset of the day giantkiller Sahaja Yamalapalli kept her winning streak upsetting sixth seeded Jennifer Luikham 6-4, 6-4 in 1 hours and 27 minutes battle.
Top seeded Zeel Desai entered the fourth semi finals in a row trouncing Sathwika Sama 6-2, 6-1 , second seeded Russian Anna Ureke of Russia and winner of the Leg at Jhajjar stopped Sai Samhitha Chamarthi 6-3, 6-3 to make the last four
Winner of the last leg at Ahmedabad Emily Seibold of Germany and third seed here pulled out her experience accounting Vaidehi Chaudhari 6-0, 6(5)-7, 6-0 to make the quartet
In the Doubles: Semifinal giant-killing pair of Shrivalli Rashmikaa Bhamidipaty and Sathwika Sama who upset top seeded Indo German pair of Vaidehi Chaudhari and Emily Seibold 6(3)-7, 6-4, 13-11 In thriller lasting 2 hours
They will now take on the unseeded pair of Sai Samhitha Chamarthi and Soha Sadiq who upset third seeded pair of Nidhi Chilumula and Saumya Vig 7-6(3), 3-6, 10-7 to enter the finals
The doubles finals will be played tomorrow (Saturday)
