CBI FILES SUPPLEMENTARY CHARGESHEET AGAINST A PRIVATE PERSON

The Central Bureau of Investigation has today filed supplementary chargesheet in the alleged murder of Ms.Sheena Bora against a private person U/s 120-B r/w Section 364, 302, 328, 201, 203, 307, 420, 468 & 471 of IPC in the Court of ACMM, 3rd for CBI cases, Esplanade, Mumbai(Maharashtra).

CBI had registered the instant case on the request of Maharashtra Government & further notification from Central Government and took over the investigation of this case on 28.09.2015 which was earlier registered by Mumbai police. It was alleged that certain accused persons hatched a criminal conspiracy to murder Ms.Sheena Bora and in pursuance of the said conspiracy, the accused persons allegedly abducted Ms.Sheena Bora, murdered her on 24.04.2012 in Mumbai and disposed-off her body at Penn-Khapoli Road, Distt. Raigad(Maharashtra).

During investigation, a Medical Board minutely examined the skeleton as well as conducted superimposition of the skull which established the identity of the deceased. After thorough investigation, CBI filed a chargesheet on 19.11.2015 against three private persons, including her mother, on charges of criminal conspiracy, abduction, murder, destruction of evidence, giving false information, creation & use of forged documents etc. in the court of ACMM (3rd Court) for CBI cases, Esplanade, Mumbai(Maharashtra).

During further investigation, CBI arrested the said private person on 19.11.2015. As the sufficient evidence emerged against him, a supplementary chargesheet was filed today.

The public is reminded that the above findings are based on the investigation done by CBI and evidence collected by it. Under the Indian Law, the accused are presumed to be innocent till their guilt is finally established after a fair trial.

Further investigation in the case is continuing.
