Shlok Sharnarthi, Raghav Pawade win at the 1st KCA Pune Open chess tournament
Pune, July 20, 2023: Shlok Sharnarthi and Raghav Pawade emerged champions in the Open and Under 12 group respectively at the 1st KCA Pune Open chess tournament which is being organized by Kunte Chess Academy and played at Shree Ganesh Sabhagruha, Karve Road.
In the last round in the open group, Shlok Sharnarthi(6.5pts) playing black pieces defeated Viresh Sharnarthi(5pts) , while Aarav Dhayagude(5.5pts) lost to Raghav Pawade(6pts) who won the title.
The open group winner Shlok Sharnarthi received a trophy and Rs.5,000/-, while under 12 group winner Raghav Pawade got Trophy and Rs.2,000/-. The prizes were given away at the hands of Mr.Gopa Kumar, A Grade IA and Member of FIDE Fair Play Commission. Mrunalini Kunte, Tournament Director, Abhishek Kelkar and Chief Arbiter Nitin Shenvi were present on the occasion.
