Shriram Life Encouraging its Employees to Practice ‘Wellness’ for maintaining Physical & Mental Well-being

Mumbai December 10, 2018: Shriram Life has started a wellness initiative Wellness@Work (W@W) to help employees take care of their physical and mental well- being. The initiative was kick-started by Mr. Cassie Kromhout, MD & CEO, SLIC. Mr. Cassie is a keen fitness enthusiast and a marathoner himself.

As part of W@W initiative, a step towards creating awareness of both mental and physical health among the employees of the organization, Shriram Life Insurance organized run in 3K and 5K category which happened to coincide with the day when Shriram Group got the license from IRDAI to commence the operations for Life Insurance business. Senior Management from the Group companies based out of Hyderabad flagged off the event. Around 350 employees participated in the Run. Top five runners in men and women category were rewarded with medals by Mr. Cassie Kromhout. Also employees were swaying with the fast beat music of Zumba pre and post event conducted by a professional team.

Acknowledging the enthusiasm, Mr. Cassie Kromhout said, “The event was successful and well received by all the participants and they expressed their keenness in having such events in future too more often. This initiative is one of the many steps taken by SLIC towards achieving happy employees”.

It is a well-known and widely accepted fact that it is the customer base which keeps the organization in business but it is the employees who keep the customers happy and loyal. Thus, giving importance to their happiness and well-being is as important as keeping the customer happy.

The Company ranks 5th amongst the private insurers in number of policies and expects to grow at a greater pace in the current financial year. SLIC was able to achieve this growth despite braving a year of consolidation in terms of cost reduction and channel restructuring. The year 2018 witnessed great focus by SLIC to improve its fundamentals and some defining processes and initiatives to improve business quality and customer experience.
