Siegwerk India Inaugurates Automated Blending Facility in Pune
Pune, 10th October 2025: Siegwerk, a global leader in printing inks and coatings for packaging applications, todayinaugurated its newly expanded and automated blending facility in Chakan, Pune. The expansion comes in response to increasing demand for water-based inks in India and forms a key part of Siegwerk’s long-term vision to build a future-ready, efficient, and sustainable supply chain infrastructure across the country.
The upgraded facility is equipped with a state-of-the-art automatic ink dispensing system that significantly enhances Siegwerk’s blending capabilities. Integrated with the company’s SAP platform, the system supports inline mixing, precise loading of key intermediates, and full traceability across the production process. The automation allows for flexible batch sizes ranging from 20 to 200 kilograms, while delivering exceptional precision with up to 1 gram of dispensing accuracy. With these advancements, the Pune center will now be capable of blending approximately 2,400 metric tons of ink annually, marking a significant increase in output capacity.
Siegwerk also recently announced an investment of INR 350 crore to expand its operations across India over the next three years. This broader commitment places India at the center of Siegwerk’s global growth and innovation strategy, reinforcing its focus on advanced manufacturing, sustainability, and talent development. The inauguration of the Pune blending facility marks an important milestone under this investment roadmap.

“This expansion marks an important step in Siegwerk India’s growth journey,” said Ms. Manjusha Singh, CEO, Siegwerk India. “The new automated system enhances our blending capacity, improves precision and safety, and enables us to meet the rising demand for water-based inks with greater speed and consistency.
