“Singham Again” Set to Compete with “Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3” at Box Office This Diwali
Mumbai, 7th October 2024: The wait is over! The creators of Singham Again have released the trailer for the star-studded mass entertainer featuring Ajay Devgn, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Deepika Padukone, Akshay Kumar, Tiger Shroff, Arjun Kapoor, and Ranveer Singh. Judging by the trailer, Singham Again is another full-on masala film by Rohit Shetty, set to light up Diwali for movie enthusiasts.
Clocking in at 4 minutes and 58 seconds, this is the longest trailer ever for a Hindi film, launched at a grand event at the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre (NMACC) in Mumbai.
Ajay Devgn, Akshay Kumar, and Ranveer Singh return as Bajirao Singham, Veer Sooryavanshi, and Simmba, respectively. Additionally, the trailer introduces two new characters to Rohit Shetty’s cop universe: Deepika Padukone as cop Shakti Shetty and Tiger Shroff as ACP Satya.
For Singham Again, Rohit Shetty has drawn inspiration from the Hindu epic, the Ramayana. The film centres on Kareena Kapoor Khan’s character Avni, wife of Bajirao Singham, being kidnapped by Arjun Kapoor, who appears menacing in his Raavan avatar. Jackie Shroff fittingly describes him as “aag ka toofan” (a storm of fire).
In the mission to rescue Avni, Ajay Devgn’s character is joined by an impressive group of allies. Deepika Padukone portrays Lady Singham, showcasing her fearless strength, while Ranveer Singh reprises his role as Inspector Sangram Bhalerao, or “Simmba,” exuding charisma and swagger. Akshay Kumar returns as the dependable Veer Sooryavanshi and Tiger Shroff adds energy and courage as ACP Satya.
This dynamic team embarks on an exhilarating adventure, promising audiences thrilling action, impactful dialogues, and surprising twists.
Before releasing the highly anticipated trailer, the makers unveiled a series of intriguing posters for Singham Again, the third instalment in the Singham franchise and the fifth in Shetty’s cop universe. The posters featured Ajay Devgn with an intense look, while Akshay Kumar, Tiger Shroff, and Ranveer Singh posed with rifles, and Deepika Padukone looked fierce, pointing her gun at the enemy.
Reports earlier suggested that Singham Again had already earned ₹200 crore ahead of its theatrical release. Rohit Shetty and Jio Studios sold the combined satellite, digital, and music rights for ₹200 crore.
Initially set for an Independence Day release, Singham Again will now hit theatres on Diwali (1st November). It will compete at the box office with Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, starring Kartik Aaryan, Vidya Balan, Madhuri Dixit, and Triptii Dimri.
