Single Window Clearance For Ganeshotsav Mandals: Eknath Shinde

Mumbai, 21st July 2022: Chief Minister Eknath Shinde informed that all the agencies should work in coordination to ensure that Ganeshotsav, Dahihandi and Moharram as well as other upcoming festivals are conducted peacefully with enthusiasm and gaiety.

He also instructed all the districts of the state to take immediate action regarding giving all the licenses to Ganeshotsav Mandals online and under the single window scheme.

In the background of public Ganeshotsav, Muharram, Dahihandi and upcoming festivals and celebrations, a review meeting regarding law and order and various arrangements in the state was held by Chief Minister at Sahyadri Guest House in the presence of Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.

Shinde said, “For the last two years we were under the threat of the Corona pandemic, so we could not celebrate our festivals with enthusiasm. Therefore, this year Ganeshotsav and Dahi Handi festivals will be celebrated with enthusiasm.”

On this occasion, he appealed to all the mandals to celebrate Ganeshotsav in an environment-friendly way and to create a vision of social awareness and social unity. He also directed the police and district administrations to make plans so that law and order in the state will remain good during the festivals of Ganeshotsav, Dahihandi and Moharram.

Action should be taken immediately to fill the potholes on the roads across the state before the start of Ganeshotsav. Along with this, Shinde also gave instructions for planning to provide a sufficient number of ST buses to go to Konkan.

Shinde also instructed the Ganeshotsav mandals to waive the registration fee and not to take the guarantee letter taken from the police department during the Ganeshotsav period, along with giving facility to the Ganeshotsav manuals to do new registration online.

Ganeshotsav is celebrated every year with a social spirit. Hence, rules must be followed. However, the administration should co-operate with the mandals without imposing unreasonable rules. Also, there will be a regulation for the festival across the state. Also directed that the district administration should appoint coordination officers for the festival.

In Mumbai, BEST should have an adequate power supply system at all immersion places and immersion routes. Also, this year we have lifted the restrictions on the height of the idol. Also, the government is positive to solve all the problems of the sculptors and the Chief Minister Shinde also directed to take appropriate action to relax some of the oppressive terms and conditions for the sculptors along with proper planning to determine the place for the idol studios in Mumbai.

A technical committee will be appointed to decide on the idols of POP, which will have expert representatives from MPCB, NIRI, IIT, NCL etc. He also said that this committee will take an environment-friendly way.

If noise pollution and some other crimes have been reported against the Ganeshotsav Mandal workers, the police should take action to remove them. Also, the Chief Minister directed that a suitable policy should be decided in accordance with the initiation of an award scheme for Ganeshotsav workers. He also appealed to the court to follow the guidelines given by the court regarding the small Govinda while celebrating the Dahi Handi festival.

Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said the Ganesh festival is an important festival. The administration should co-operate to celebrate this festival with enthusiasm. It was said that any difficulties should be resolved through mutual cooperation.

Director General of Police Rajnish Seth presented the preparations made to maintain law and order intact in connection with the upcoming festival.

All Divisional Commissioners, Collectors, Commissioners of Police, District Superintendent of Police, Municipal Commissioners, Chief Executive Officers, Chief Officers of Public Works, National Highways, Electricity Departments and Chief Officers of important Public Ganesha Mandals of the district were present.
