Sinhgad Institutes receives Erasmus + Grant of Euro € 25,000 along with University of Galati, Romania

9 Oct 2019,Pune-Sinhgad Institutes, Pune is now amongst the few Indian education institutes to receive European Union’s Erasmus + KA 107 Grant of Euro € 25,000. Further to an MOU with the Partner University – University of Galati, Romania- University Dunarea de Jos of Galati – a 45 years old non-profit public higher education institution of high repute, located in city of Galati, in Romania, Euro € 25,000 was received from EU to facilitate student and faculty mobility programs scheduled to commence in April 2020. Student would get financial support of Euro €3220 and the staff would get Euro €1800 for travel and individual support.

 

Erasmus+ KA 107 is the EU’s program to support education, training, youth and sport in Europe. Its budget of Euro €14.7 billion will provide opportunities for over 4 million individuals and organizations to study, train, and gain experience abroad. Merging seven prior programs, Erasmus + KA 107 has multiple opportunities for students, a wide variety of individuals and organizations. The overall program objectives are to boost skills and employability; modernize education, training with a focus on young people. The students would have further opportunities to enhance their foreign language competencies, raise their awareness and understanding of other cultures and countries.

 

Youth exchanges allow groups of young people from different countries to meet live together and work on shared projects for short periods. Youth exchanges take place outside the campus environment. On a youth exchange, the students can expect to participate in activities such as workshops, exercises, debates, outdoor activities and more. Youth exchanges last between 5 and 21 days. This excludes travelling time. This is applicable to faculty exchange also. The EU Grant supports travel as well as practical and activity-related costs necessary for the exchange. In addition, Sinhgad Institutes can apply for funding and support for International Credit Mobility projects which could last 24 or 36 months to facilitate mobility activities within the project.
