Pune: Pointing out traffic problems in highly congested Khadki Bazar, Republican Party of India (Athavale) Khadki block president Abhijit Gadankush has written to the chief executive officer of Khadki cantonment board and Pune traffic police for finding their solutions.

The letters were sent on March 7 and 8 and Gadankush has threatened to bring rally to their offices if the issue is not resolved.

As per his letter, Khadki Bazar has a population of about 70,000. People from Pune as well as other parts of the district come to the market for shopping and purchasing live saving medicines. However nobody follows traffic rules which often leads to traffic jam.

“People park vehicles here and there. Even though there are boards indicating no-parking, vehicles are parked near old water tank, Khadki bus stop, jewellers lane, Gandhi chowk, Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar chowk and on the road opposite the police line. There is ban on entry of heavy vehicles in the market during daytime but you will find many heavy vehicles since afternoon itself,” Gadankush told Punekar News.
