Sonu Sood launches toll-free helpline for migrant labourers in Mumbai

Mumbai, May 28, 2020: Sonu Sood, an actor who is known for his roles in Dabbang and Kung Fu Yoga, has been hailed as a real hero for helping the stranded labourers to reach their home amidst the lockdown. He has sent over 12,000 migrants over different parts of the country.

Besides, the actor has also launched a toll-free number 18001213711 through which any labourer can now easily reach out for help. The video of Sood waving at the labourers seated in buses has been winning hearts on the internet.

In a Twitter post, Sood said, “Hello! I am speaking to you, your friend Sonu Sood. My dear labour brothers and sisters. If you are in Mumbai and if you wish to go to your hometown, please call this number -18001213711 or WhatsApp your name and address on 9321472118. Also tell how many people you are, and where you are now and where you want to go. We will do whatever we can to help you. Our team will contact you soon. Thank you!”.

Sood said, “I was getting a lot of calls… thousands of calls every day. My family and friends were busy collecting the data then we realised we might miss out on a lot of people who we will not be able to approach us. So we decided to open this call centre, it is a toll-free number.”

Not only in real life but on social media as well, Sood has robbed the hearts of his fans. Vishwajit Dwivedy tweeted,” @ 20thWin @Sonusood भैया, एक बार गर्लफ्रेंड से ही मिलवा दीजिए .. बिहार ही जाना है #Sonu Sood”. Sood replied,” थोड़े दिन दूर रह के देख ले भाई . सच्चे प्यार की परीक्षा भी हो जाएगी”.

Another user, Pranav Sapra, tweeted,” now I just need to convince Sonu Sood I stay in Goa”. To this hilarious comment, Sood replied, “So better convince me that you stay in Switzerland .. who knows”.

A very heart touching tweet by a needy labourer which said, “Sonu Sood help sir please, East UP कहीं भी भेज दो सर वहां से पैदल चले जाएंगे अपने गांव सर”. Sood replied, “पैदल क्यों जाओगे दोस्त ?? नम्बर भेजो ।”, This has melted the hearts of twitter users and lots of love and blessings were flooded on Sood’s handle.
