Soon Women To Constitute More Than 50% Workforce In Administrative, Police And Revenue Services: Maharashtra Governor

Mumbai, 20th August 2021: Women in India have endured thousands of years of injustice and hardship. But times have changed and today there are (women) astronauts, pilots, military officers, said Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari.

 

He expressed confidence that in the near future, the share of women in Indian administrative services, police service, revenue service and other services will be more than 50 per cent.

 

He was speaking at a function held at the Raj Bhavan to confer the ‘Stree Shakti Samman’. Former Member of National Commission for Women Nafeesa Hussain, Divyang swimmer Jiya Rai, entrepreneur Swati Singh, Athlete Maithali Agasti, playback singer Reewa Rathod, film star Rajeshwari Sachdeva, Hindi writer Dr Bharti Gore, former Sarpanch Devki Doiphode and editor of weekly ‘Vivek’ Ashwini Mayekar were felicitated by the Governor on the occasion.

 

The felicitation was organised by ‘Abhiyan’ a social and cultural organization. MLA Ashish Shelar, industrialist Vinit Mittal and Founder of ‘Abhiyan’ Amarjeet Mishra were present.

 

Mentioning that mother power is very important in life, the Governor said that it is a pleasant thing for us to see a large number of women writers writing in Marathi newspapers as well as financial newspapers in Maharashtra.
