Special curfew passes for cab, autorickshaw drivers at Pune airport

Pune, March 23, 2020: The people coming to Pune via various flights at Pune airport need not worry about their travel from the airport to their destination, as Pune city police have issued special curfew passes to the cab, autorickshaw drivers at Pune airport.

 

DCP (Zone 4) Pankaj Deshmukh told Punekarnews.in, “Many people were worried after curfew was imposed as to how they will go home after landing at Pune airport. Therefore, we have issued special passes to cab, autorickshaw drivers operating at the airport. The passes are valid for 24 hours (till March 24th midnight).”

 

Senior Police Inspector Gajanan Pawar, in-charge of Vimantal (airport) police station, said that the cab/autorickshaw drivers will have to follow a designated route to the destination.

 

The passes hold significance as no vehicles, buses, autorickshaw or cabs are allowed to operate during the curfew (till March 31), except those part of essential services.

 

Meanwhile, the government has cancelled all domestic flights from March 24th midnight.

“The operations of domestic schedule commercial airlines shall cease operations with effect from the midnight 23.59 IST hours on 24/3/2020.

 

Airlines have to plan operations so as to land at their destination before 2359 hours on 24/3/2020. The restrictions shall not apply to solely cargo-carrying flights”, stated a press release from Ministry of Civil Aviation.
