Special program held by MITSOT to mark World Telecom Day

Pune 18 May 2018: MIT School of Technology Management (MITSOT) organized a special program to mark World Telecommunication and Information Society Day on 17 May 2018 at MIT WPU Kothrud premises. This is the 10th consecutive year that MITSOT organized this program . The program was in the form of a half day conference with the theme “AI Technology for Peace building “. Various experts in the field of Artificial Intelligence spoke on the occasion. Dr Milind Pande , Project Director MITSOT, Sunil Rai, Vice Chancellor- MIT ADT University, Dr.Madhuri Joshi,Chairman,The IET Pune LN , Moushmi Dasgupta,CEO-Analytics Domain, Sunil Avhad,CEO-Capgemini, Vrinda Walimbe,President-Rotary Club of Pune,Shivaji Nagar were present on the occasion.

On this occasion start-up awards were given away to Amol Gulhane,CEO & Founder Robolab Technologies (Positive use of Artificial Intelligence in Education), Animesh Samuel,Co-Founder, NLP Bots (NLP AI Technologies) , Sheetal Singh, Director,MICPL (Enterprise Sector of Telecom) for their outstanding contribution in their respective fields.

Prof. Shobhana Anand, Head Corporate Relations and Placement MITSOT was compeer for the program and Dr.Jaydeep Jadhav, Head of examination gave vote of thanks.

Every year, International Telecommunication Union (ITU) organizes World Telecommunication and Information Society Day (WTISD) world over with an objective to help raise awareness of the possibilities that the use of the Internet and other Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) can bring to societies and economies, as well as of ways to bridge the digital divide.
