State Government will take initiative for housing for police – Fadnavis

Mumbai, 3.Jul.19: “Apart from government quarters, police should get their own house. State government have taken several important decisions regarding this and are continuously taking the follow up State government will take initiative to raise grant for the schemes to provide own house for police employees” said Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.

He was speaking in a programme organized to launch new schemes to be implemented for police and their families. Inauguration of the schemes launched by the Sukanya Yojana for daughters of police, healthism card for health, online platform toppers apps for children’s education, computer training classes, free legal advice for police personnel court case, and goggles distribution for traffic police also took place by the hands of Honorable Chief Minister, on this occasion.

Mr. Fadanvis informed that new six schemes would be implemented by Police Welfare Department for police and their families.

He further stated that if any police employees send any proposal comes, then it has been granted immediate approval. In the last five years, many decisions have been taken in relation to the government’s or official rights of the police. So, in the meantime, a large number of homes have been created for the police. Also, the speed of house providing is increased. Work of set up of new colony for the police is going on. The colony will many amenities like gym and skill development center for children.

To get own house for police, government has launched interest rate scheme which included concession in registration and stamp duty amount, mat area discount. State government will always take the initiative to provide affordable housing to the police through various schemes, informed Mr. Fadanvis

“Police force is like a family and hence plans for health, education have been started to take care of this family. In cities like Mumbai, police do not have time to take care of their families. Therefore, the healthism card will be proved beneficial. The retired police did not have any health plans. Hence, the retired police has been included in Mahatma Phule Jeevandayi Arogya Yojna” said Chief Minister.

Home Minister for State Dr. Ranjeet Patil said that Mumbai is a miraculous city and its challenges are different. This challenges have increased due to the latest changing technologies. However, Mumbai Police has been getting this challenge very efficiently. In this police department, the Chief Minister has made radical changes in the last five years. CCTV, CCTNS and Cyber Police have started a number of such initiatives. For the modernization of police force, Rs. 2100 crores have been spent. The police are being given larger sized houses than before.

            Police Commissioner Sanjay Barve explained the plans for police department and their background. At this time, five girls of police employees were given check under the Sukanya Yojana. Distribution of healthism card also took place on this occasion
