‘Students must protect environment’

“Along with the education students have a great responsibility of conserving our environment”, says BJP MLA Medha Kulkarni.

Member of Education department, Manjushree Khardekar had organized a tree plantation program in Samrat Ashok Vidyalaya in Karvenagar on August 9.

Sunanda Jadhav the principal of this school welcomed everyone while Mr Bidkar hosted the program.

During the program, Medha Kulkarni gave important information related to local trees and discussed about the environmental problems.

She asked the students to nurture the saplings that were planted in the school premises.

Medha Kulkarni said, “The inevitable climatic changes, droughts, rainfalls and all the natural calamities are caused due to our unfair activities that harm the nature and in turn harm us.”

Babu Kandkur and his mother were felicitated as he won a prize in boxing competition.

“This school has a big ground. We are trying our best to keep it clean and build a wall around it. Planting trees would in turn benefit the future generation and hence 32 saplings were planted in the premises. These saplings will be taken care of,”said Kulkarni.

Surekha Makwan, Baba Dhumal, Ramdas Gawade, Jayant Bhave, Prashant Harsule, Jagannath Kulkarni, Kuldeep Savlekar, Bharat Shirke, Tatya Balwadkar, Somnath Gund, Amol Dange, Ritesh Vaidya, Shivram Mendge, Dilip Umbarkar were present during the program.
