Sun Moon Couriers Co owners booked for not depositing employees PF money

Pune, April 3, 2019: The Employees Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) has lodged complaint with Pune city police against two owners of the city-based Sun Moon Couriers Pvt Limited, Karve Road, for allegedly not depositing employees provident fund (PF) money.

Based on complaint from enforcement officer Amresh Kumar (42) from the EPF regional office, Pune, an FIR has been registered with Alankar police station against Sun Moon Couriers Pvt Limited directors Ashish Yashwant Palande and Yashwant Vasudev Palande.

As per the FIR, between January 2017 and September 2018, the company deducted Rs 53,584 as PF amount from employees salaries. Alongwith employees money, the directors should have deposited Rs 66,918 as company contribution to the EPFO. Thus, a total of Rs 1.2 lakhs should have been deposited but the directors failed to do so.

The accused persons have been booked for offences under sections 406 (criminal breach of trust) and 34 (common intention) of the Indian Penal Code.
