Supriya Sule Slams Air India Over 3-Hour Flight Delay, Seeks Government Intervention

New Delhi, 17th June 2025: Baramati MP Supriya Sule on Tuesday raised serious concerns over the functioning of Air India, calling out the airline for poor service and lack of communication after a flight she was on faced a delay of over three hours.
Sule, who was travelling from Delhi to Pune on Air India flight AI 2971, took to social media platform X (formerly Twitter) at 6:22 pm to highlight the inconvenience faced by passengers. “Travelling from Delhi to Pune on @airindia flight AI 2971. The flight is delayed by over 3 hours — no clear communication, no updates, no assistance and very bad service. Such delays and mismanagement are becoming a norm with @airindia.
Passengers are left stranded and helpless. This apathy is unacceptable. Urging @RamMNK, @MoCA_GoI to intervene and hold the airline accountable. Travellers deserve better,” she posted.
Responding swiftly to her complaint, Union Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu Kinjarapu replied at 7:01 pm stating, “@supriya_sule ji, I’ve spoken to the airline and airport authorities. They’ve been asked to urgently address the concerns of all affected passengers.”
The incident has once again brought the spotlight on repeated passenger grievances involving Air India, including flight delays, lack of updates, and poor ground handling. The airline, now operated by the Tata Group, has been under public scrutiny in recent months over operational issues.
As of late evening, there was no official statement from Air India regarding the cause of the delay or the measures taken to assist the stranded passengers.
