Suryadatta Institute of Management (SIMMC)Students of PGDM organize a Global Expo witnessed by international Guests
20 March 2019, Pune: The importance of Team Work and Team Building for a management student is self-evident. The staff and management at Suryadatta fully appreciate this and to this end, from time to time various workshops, seminars and guest lectures are held on this topic. Keeping up with this, the management wing under Suryadatta Group of Institutes, Bavdhan, Pune had arranged Unique Global Expo recently.
Global Expo was country specific-geographic, political & economic information exhibition. It was a platform for students, faculty, visitors to get acquainted with global trade, current business affairs, social, cultural features and political policies of a country. The basic aim was building analytical abilities, presentation skills, team spirit and managerial perspective among students.
Today’s corporate world is fraught with many challenges, one of which is to compete with global market. All companies are dealing with various countries for business by way of importing/exporting of goods &services. Therefore at Suryadatta we had given this field work project to our students to make them ready for the global challenges ahead.
The activity was on a very large scale where students of MBA & PGDM of Suryadatta institute participated enthusiastically. Students clustered into 23 groups of five each, selected a country and made geo-political and economic data analysis of it through search engines, social media, personal interaction and market research. Analysis of countries like US, Canada, France, UAE, Russia, Germany, Netherland, China, UK etc. was demonstrated via power point presentations, videos, info graphs, charts, flex, artefacts and many other creative ways. The culture, history, demography and the growth pattern of the chosen country was also amply demonstrated by the group. More than 1000 students, staff, visitors and industry resource people visited and appreciated the work done by the students.
An important asset in today’s scenario is ‘Knowledge Gaining by Knowledge Sharing’ through powerful networking. To inculcate this good practice, all 23 groups shared database with each other, as a result of which all the students were enriched with detailed information of all the 23 countries.
The whole activity was assessed by our international guests as well as internal faculty and student’s peer groups. International guests included Mr. Manoj Barve- India head, BVMW (German Federation Association of SMEs), Ms. Kazuko Barisic- Japanese artist and freelance advisor, Mr. Tomio Isogai – Freelance advisor in Indo-Japanese Relations, adjunct professor in D.
