Sustained Efforts Needed To Establish Pune As A Major Economic Hub Opine Experts

Pune, March 15, 2022: ‘A sustained effort is needed from all the decision makers and stakeholders in the city to establish Pune as a major economic hub in the coming decade’ maintained experts during the Pune Development Summit 2022 organised by Plannogram and TTC Media with support from the Bank of Maharashtra.
With the theme- Vision Pune@2030, the summit, which discussed Pune’s growth, real estate sector and economic development and scope for the largest non-capital city in India was conducted over 3 sessions and was held at Bajaj Gallery, MCCIA, ICC Trade Tower, Senapati Bapat Road, Pune. Around 250 people attended the event in person while about 500 people attended online.
Speakers such as Ayush Prasad IAS, CEO, Zilla Parishad Pune, A. B. Vijayakumar Executive Director, Bank of Maharashtra, Prof. Ramchandra Gohad, Veteran Urban Planner, Milind Deshpande, Amit Paranjape, Entrepreneur, Dr Priya Nagraj, CEO, Pune Knowledge Cluster, Aditya Javdekar, Director, Vilas Javdekar Builders, Sudhir Mehta President, MCCIA, Prof. Yugank Goyal Head of Public Policy, FLAME, Ar Prasanna Desai, Architect, and Aashish Chandorkar Counsellor, Permanent Representative of India to WTO, Geneva graced the occasion and discussed about increasing the cooperation and coordination between various governing bodies in Pune City.
The experts asserted that since Pune will be undergoing tremendous growth over the next few years due to the expansion of the Pune International Airport, Pune Metro, Pune Smart City Initiative, Maan-Mhalunge HiTech city, High-Capacity Mass Transit Route (HCMTR), 24×7 water supply initiative and many more such projects, the completion of these projects as well as their implementation will need cooperation from all the decision makers in PMC and PCMC limits so that the implementation and integration of these projects into the city is smooth and sustainable.
Kunal Tilak, the co-convener of this event said, “Through the Pune Development Summit 2022, a Vision Pune 2030 document will be prepared, which will be shared with the decision makers of the city and the State of Maharashtra.”
Piyush Girgaonkar, the founder of Plannogram said, “As the Indian cities are the engines of national economy, more such city centric initiatives will be taking place on a regular basis.”
Plannogram is a youth centric initiative to connect thought leaders, academicians, policymakers from planning and policy spheres to amplify sustainable practices towards global development.
