Pune, May 11 : Pune based Manahar Sangeet Sabha in association with real estate developer Vilas Javdekar presents the concluding program of their initiative, ‘Swar-Vilas’. So far there were 9 musical programs held in the city, based on the backbone of Indian Classical Music that is Raga & Thaat. Under this initiative ‘Swar-Vilas’ is the Grand finale to be held on May 13 & May 14 in Pune. This 2-days program will be take place on Saturday, May 13, 05:30pm at MES Auditorium, Bal Shikshan School, Mayur Colony and on Sunday, May 14, 09:00am at Abasaheb Garaware College, Karve Road. ‘Swar-Vilas’ will be based on ‘Bairavi’ thaat of the Indian classical music and will present an interesting format where through interactive sessions the audience will gain information about this traditional Raga.
During the 2-days musical extravaganza, day first of ‘Swar-Vilas’ will begin with the performance of renowned Indian Classical Vocalist Pt. Hemant Pendse from Agra Gharana. Pt. Hemant Pendse is the disciple of Late Pt. Jitendra Abhisheki. Second performance will be of Hindustani classical vocalist, Kalapini Komkali, daughter of Padma Vibhushan awardee Late Pt. Kumar Gandharva. Subsequently, the first day’s session will end with Pt. Shaunak Abhisheki’s performance. Son and disciple of the Maestro Pt. Jitendra Abhisheki, Pt. Shaunak Abhisheki belongs to Agra Gharana.
Second day will have two performances, which will start with Vocalist Anuradha Kuber’s performance. She belongs to Bhendi Bazaar Gharana and trained under eminent vocalist Pt. T D Janorikar. Later, the maestro from Mewati Gharana, Pt. Sanjeev Abhyankar will perform and conclude this musical show. These Vocalists will be accompanied by Bharat Kamat and Prashant Pandav on Tabla, Suyog Kundalkar and Chaitanya Kunte on Harmonium.
The program is free and entry is on first come first served basis. Few seats will be reserved. The passes for this program will be available from Wednesday, May 10, between 10:00am and 06:00pm at the office of Vilas Javdekar Developers Pvt. Ltd., 306 Sangam Press Road, Kothrud, Pune.
