Pune, 4th February 2025: The Ministry of Railways has introduced the ‘SwaRail’ SuperApp, a one-stop digital platform integrating multiple railway services. The app, currently in beta testing, is available for download on the Google Play Store and Apple App Store. It aims to enhance user experience by reducing the need for multiple railway applications and optimising device storage.
Comprehensive Features and Services
Developed by the Centre for Railway Information Systems (CRIS), the app consolidates all public-facing railway services, including:
– Reserved and Unreserved Ticket Booking
– Platform and Parcel Ticket Booking
– Train and PNR Status Enquiries
– Food Orders on Trains
– Rail Madad for Complaint Management
– Freight Enquiries and Services
Key Features of the SuperApp
1. Single Sign-On
– Users can access all services using a single login.
– The same credentials apply across existing railway apps like IRCTC RailConnect and UTS Mobile App.
2. All-in-One Platform
– Eliminates the need for multiple apps for ticket bookings, train schedules, and enquiries.
– Provides a unified interface for all railway services.
3. Integrated Information Display
– PNR enquiry results will include associated train details for a seamless experience.
4. Easy Onboarding and Login
– Existing users of RailConnect or UTS Mobile App can log in directly.
– New users can register with minimal data entry.
– Supports m-PIN and biometric authentication for secure access.
Focus on User Feedback
The beta testing phase allows users to provide feedback for improvements. The CRIS team is monitoring user inputs, ensuring timely resolution of suggestions. After evaluation, a public launch will be planned.
