Symbiosis awards scholarship in Medical Technology and Nursing

The Symbiosis Community Outreach Programme & Extension Activities (SCOPE) department under the aegis of Symbiosis International University, identified three key areas to focus on viz. health, education and waste management. These areas were identified after a detailed baseline survey in the 14 villages and 9 hamlets surrounding Symbiosis University Campus, Lavale.

In line with the adopted focus areas, 9 girl students were identified for educational scholarship from various villages studying in 12th standard aspiring to pursue higher studies. Out of which three students were selected after a formal interview process. These girl students would get complete scholarship which would include tuition, hostel and mess for the entire duration of 3 years. They would be pursuing B.Sc. in Medical Technology and B.Sc. in Nursing in Symbiosis Institute of Health Sciences and Symbiosis College of Nursing respectively.  and will be provided free education as well as accommodation, mess till they complete their education in respective Institutes.

Symbiosis has already started orientation to all three girls by introducing them to teachers and students in their respective programmes.

One of the candidates, SayaliShinde, was anxious when the orientation began but at the end of it she confidently said that, “I am happy to be one of these students and my fear of the new environment has vanished completely!”

The other two candidates, Omshree and Deepali, spent half an hour with senior students to understand academics as well as the vibrant student life.
