Symbiosis donates Rs 5 lakhs to the Chief Minister Relief Funds

“Symbiosis Foundation will donate Rs 5 lakhs to the Chief Minister Relief Funds for victims of the Kerala floods,” said Dr S. B. Mujumdar, Founder and President of Symbiosis Society at the programme held at Symbiosis Vishwabhavn auditorium, SB Road to support the relief operations carried out by the Kerala Government held today. He also appealed to students and staff alike from across campuses at Symbiosis to generously donate in kind and cash to help our brother and sisters from Kerala. “I thank you all, for showing eagerness and willingness to participate in this movement,” concludes Dr Mujumdar.

Students from Kerala who were present for this event shared their side of story. Most of them highlighted the focus of the donation should be in kind and should cater to the needs of women and child like sanitary napkins, dettol, oil, medicines and other daily necessities amongst others.

Symbiosis will now work with concerted efforts with groups of students and faculty from across campuses so that relief measures are planned efficiently. This would be further coordinated with Government in Kerala.
