Former state chief minister and senior BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis had also written a letter to Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray demanding that the film ‘Tanhaji’ be tax-free in the state.

Leader of Opposition in the assembly Fadnavis wrote in the letter, “The new generation should know the story of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s confidant and brave warrior Tanhaji Malusare. Most people should know how Tanhaji put his life at stake to capture the Kondana Fort. Therefore, this film should be tax free.”
