‘Taste of Kolhapur’ in Pune
Pune, March 23: Be it Misal, Chicken or Mutton Thali, Tambada or Pandhara Rassa, Kolhapuri cuisine has always attracted foodies of the world. And it becomes a perfect treat for connoisseurs to have the authentic Kolhapuri flavors right here in Pune. Adding a pungent twist to your weekend, a unique ‘Kolhapuri Food Festival’ is being organized in the city by a Facebook group ‘Kolhapur Eateries’. Scheduled between Friday, March 24th and Sunday, March 26th, this food festival will be held at Pandit Farms at Karve Nagar. The timing of the festival would be from 10.00am to 10.00pm.
Speaking on the occasion, Nikhil Thakkar, creator of Kolhapur Eateries, Facebook Group said, “We have been connected to each other on the Facebook page – ‘Kolhapur Eateries’ since April 2016 to share the fondness for Kolhapuri Food. Within a year’s time this group had more than 40,000 members from all over the world. The group members include admirers of Kolhapuri food and owners of the famous eateries / restaurants of Kolhapur.”
“In the initial stage, we were aware about very few famous restaurants in Kolhapur however, as more and more foodies joined the group we could explore many eateries in the city which serve lip smacking, authentic Kolhapuri dishes. So, with an objective to bring this delectable Kolhapuri food culture to the food buffs of Pune, we decided to organize a special Kolhapuri Food Festival in Pune”, he added.
This festival will present tempting Kolhapuri delicacies from renowned restaurants or eateries from Kolhapur like Padma Guest House, Phadatare Misal, Tambada – Pandhara, Gavran Misal, Ma Ma Masoor, Avanti Wada, Nitin’s Canteen, Rajbhau Bhel to name a few.
One can relish variety of Kolhapuri dishes during this festival like Tamdaba – Pandhara Rassa, Khandoli, Mutton Pickle, Chicken or Mutton Thali, Pithale – Bhakari, Misal, Whole Masoor and many others. Moreover, the festival will also feature a small market where the visitors can purchase food items and other products famous from Kolhapur region.
