Pune, 1st July 2025: The Central Goods and Services Tax (CGST) and Customs Pune Zone marked the 8th GST Day with a grand celebration at the Vitthal Tupe Patil Auditorium in Hadapsar on Tuesday. The event brought together over 800 attendees, including taxpayers, officers, and dignitaries, in a program that blended official recognition with cultural performances.

Organised by the CGST Audit Commissionerate under the leadership of Commissioner Sanjay Kumar, the event was presided over by Chief Commissioner of Pune CGST & Customs, Mayank Kumar. The chief guest for the occasion was Dr. Anand Deshpande, Founder and Managing Director of Persistent Systems.

Highlights of the event included the felicitation of exemplary taxpayers and officers from the GST department, as well as the release of a specially composed GST Song, a book, and a magazine authored and contributed by GST officers.

In a unique artistic presentation, officers of the GST department performed GST Mudra, a Kathak dance narrative designed to depict the evolution and impact of the Goods and Services Tax regime.

The celebration concluded with a musical performance by renowned singer and composer Shankar Mahadevan, adding a festive and memorable end to the occasion.

The vote of thanks was delivered by Vaishali Patange, Additional Commissioner, CGST Audit, who acknowledged the efforts of the organising team and the participation of guests in making the event a success.
