TENURE OF CHAIRMAN B P SINGH,FTII SOCIETY AND GOVERNING COUNCIL EXTENDED BY SIX MONTHS.
20 March 2020, Pune- Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has extended the tenure of Sh B P Singh, President of FTII Society & Chairman of Governing Council by six months with effect from 4/3/20 .
An Order issued by the Ministry on Thursday, 19th March 2020, also says the tenure of non-official members of FTII Society has too been extended by six months or till a new FTII Society is appointed, whichever is earlier.
The term of Society headed by Sh Singh, who is also Chairman of FTII Academic Council, had ended on 3/3/20.
Sh Satish Kaushik, Actor, Sh Prasoon Joshi, Chairman, CBFC, Sh Anup Jalota, Singer, Sh Danny Denzongpa,Actor & FTII alumnus, Sh Vidhu Vinod Chopra, Film maker & FTII alumnus and Ms Kangana Ranaut,Actor are some of the notable non-official members of FTII Society.
The Governing Council has Raj Kumar Hirani, Film maker & FTII alumnus,Sh Mahesh Aney, Cinematographer & FTII alumnus and Ms Divya Dutta, Actor as some of its prominent members.
Sh B P Singh,19th Chairman of FTII Governing Council, is an FTII Cinematography alumnus of 1972 batch. He is widely recognised as the maker of popular TV shows AAHAT, SHAPATH, DIAL 100 and CID. Achieving cult status, CID ran non-stop for a record-breaking 22 years on Sony TV.
