Tesla’s first manufacturing unit to open in Karnataka, state government confirms!

Bengaluru, February 14, 2021: American giant electric vehicle company Tesla will open its first manufacturing unit in Karnataka, confirmed the state government. Elon Musk has been looking for a place to set up its manufacturing unit in India.

On 8 January, Tesla registered its company – Tesla India Motor and Energy Private Limited in Bengaluru. The setting up of manufacturing units in Karnataka is very special because other carmakers are already producing their cars in this state.

Different states are vying for setting up a Tesla manufacturing plant as it will bring economic benefits and employment. For the past few days, there were reports that Tesla was also in talks with several states to set up their manufacturing unit in India.

Tesla is famous for its technology worldwide. Last year, the company’s Model 3 car became the world’s best-selling electric car.
